Why don't back up your database and then restore it into your target server? Salih Sipahi

i could not back it up coz a virus hit me and affected my datatbase. all i have is the last backup dated 10/06/2001 and all the logs upto today. i tried creating a database using backup but it failed. i also tried creating the same database name and retoring it using the backup file that i have and it also failed. the backup that i have came from ver. 5 and i want to restore it in ver. 6.
hope you can help me. thanks.

Can you remember what was the failure message of DB2 when you attempt to restore your back-up? Salih Sipahi

yes, the message was "the job was created but with warnings and errors".

the actual message is 'The job completed with warnings or errors for the request "Create Database from Backup - DB2 -MYDATA "'. is there a way?

Go to control panel ---> journal look at the job history and state what the "detailed" error message is. Salih Sipahi
