I am new to asp. But I know VB very well and knows enough html stuff to debug or modify asp pages.
I have this website developed by someone using Visual Interdev and it is up to me to modify it.
Since it is pretty big and users constantly access it I have to copy all the source file to the local machine .
But I dont see a project file to open in VID.
How do you all do this?

Create a new project in VID and add these asp pages to it ?
Please let me know how to get it working as it is on my local machine before I can try any modifications.
I do have IIS/Frontpage extensions etc Installed
Thanks

I cant help you with interdev part... but i must say don't use frontpage... its a horid program

snowboardr,
Frontpage extensions are used to support Visual InterDev's Server Side deployment and debugging.. it doesn't mean the OP is using Frontpage..

Injun,

have you tried just FTP'ing the website contents from the server to your pc ? Start with a copy locally, then try publishing to the server, this may help. It may also be issues with the perms on the Web Server etc - so you might want to check that too.

As an aside, you might want to try the new Visual Studio 2005 Web Developer Express Edition.. it's free and much better than the old interdev product:
