Hi all,

Quick question for you guru's

Would it be possible to produce a VB script to copy text from Word, paste into notepad, copy from notepad, then close notepad, saving the text held on the clipboard.

cheers

Sure. This can be written using the sendkeys command. the only problem is, while the process is going on, you cant do anything else, bu the good news is it is REALLY fast. :)

Thank you!!!

Has anyone got an example script i could mess around with?

Cheers

A better way would be to use WSHExtra. It is an add on DLL that you can register that allows you to use the clipboard in conjunction with vbscript. Do a search of this forum for WSHExtra and you should find some samples I posted on the subject.

If you can't find a copy of the DLL, you can download it from my site:
The DLL was originally published by Ziff Davis magazine.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
