is there a way to copy with vba tables from the existing dbase to another mdb ?

Have a look at the DoCmd.TransferDatabase method.

Hope This Helps, PH.

If you are to copy many objects to a new database, would there be an option to copy the mdb file first and the delete the objects? I think it would be faster!

When in VBE press the F2 key, type transferdatabase in the search area, press Enter and finally F1.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Jerry,

You could not know it. This is not an option.
Because my dbase is large and trying to compact takes two days. When I simply copy the object to a new one the size reduced to 1/3.

My 378MB mdb file is compacted in ~4 min. How large is your mdb? Your 2 days compaction worries me dreadfully!
