Is it possible to use the copy command or Super Copy command when dealing with a VG224? I see the Copy feature there but it does not do anything. When I view end points I see "copy" and "super copy" and when I press Super Copy it asks for a MAC address and what I try to put in they say is invalid.

Existing working port has mac address of: 75D025D84440C. It wonlt let me put in 75D025D84440D as the MAC. It's 13 characters, not normal for 12 char. MAC. Tried eliminating the 7 to see if that takes and no luck.

Thanks,

Are you trying to copy the whole VG or just a port? Where you are, it is for copying the gateway.

Trying to copy just a port. I went to the Gateway and selected View Endpoints, there I see all configured ports. To the right of each is a Copy and Super Copy, that is where I selected from. When I do Super Copy it asks me for the MAC address and whatever I put in is invalid. I checked the other ports to see the mac address and they are all 13 charachters. I undestand how thay assign the mac's on the vg (00-09, a-f, 10-17) but no matter how i put it in it comes back invalid unique address and I know the ports are not configured.

Select the port you want to copy and see if there is a copy function.
Again where you are, it's trying to copy the whole gateway and create a new one.

I have tried that. When I select the port, I only see copy on the upper navigation bar and thet when press acts as though you want to copy the gateway not port. However, if I list all my VG's and click on "View End Points", it shows me a list of configured ports on that particular VG. To the right of each port it has an option for Copy or Super Copy. I select super copy and it brings me to a screen that states: "New device to populate from AND0FD47D813400" and then has a line that says MAC Address and a box to enter your new MAC address for the port you want to copy too. But no matter how I put in the MAC address for the individual port it will not take. The VG's take the last 10 characters of a MAC address and then append 3 charachters at the end to define each individual port. I tried to go in sequence to what I know would be the next MAC address assigned and it will only take 12 charachters and I am lost as to what format it wants it in.....

Thanks for helping me get through this.....

I'm running cucm 8.6.2 and I don't see a copy option for a VG224 in MGCP or SCCP mode.
What version of cucm? Are you sure it is a VG224 and not a VG248 or something else?

System version: 8.0.3.21900-8

Product VG224
Gateway SKIGW75D025D844
Protocol SCCP

Headers on "View End Point" Page:
Device Name(Line), Description, Device Pool, Device Protocol, Status, IP Address, Copy, Super Copy

Not sure if I can post a screen shot....

In 7.1xxxxx version, you can go to DEVICE - Gateway - (choose the right gateway) then in the configured slots area, if you open one up, there is a copy option at the bottom of the page. This seems to do what you are wanting to do. Not sure if it is the same in 8.xxxxx though ....

Thanks, I tried that and when I select one of the ports and scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the COPY button it takes me back to the Gateway Configuration screen. Thinking it may now be asking me to select a open port to copy the information too, I click on an unconfigured port and it just comes up blank and I have to manually change all the configuration settings.

Why have a copy (supercopy) button in the port configurations when it will not work.....I am begining to believe that it is just not possible to copy configuration settings with these VG's. I have a total of 20 VG's and to manually configure each port, yet simple, takes time. And they told me to stay away from BAT'ing in VG's because of alot of issues with that.....

Thanks for your suggestion!
