Hi,
I'm new to Crystal, currenlty using v 10. I have a report that has the structure and most of the calculations I want. Is there a way to use the existing report and just change the datasource rather than recreate the whole thing from scratch? (to have the existing fields in the report remain but refer to the new location e..g a field "Patient Name" change from referring to view1.PatientInfo.Patient_Name to referring to view2.PatientInfo.Patient_Name)

The existing report and the new report both refer to views I created on the same MS Windows Server.

I tried the "Set Database Location" process and I can see the new view but when I highlight it the "Update" button remains dithered (gray). This has probably been answered here before but I couldn't find an answer despite searching for half an hour.

TIA

Chris

The only way is to use Set Database Location. Note that you must select the view in both the top and the bottom panes in order to get the Update button to enable.

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.
