I have been trying to copy a configuration file from one PIX 515 to another, with no luck and I have found no help online. Currently the file is sitting on my tftp server at 10.1.3.2, and my firewalls inside interface is at 10.1.1.1. If anyone can tell me how to get a configuration file on the PIX I would be great full.

You mean send the file in hyper termianl right?

Console into the new 515, open the config from the old 515 in notepad, cut and paste that config into the new 515.

Please forgive me I am confused. I have the hyper terminal open but not sure how to get the file into the pix.

1. Open the file in notepad on the workstation in which you are hyperterminaled to the pix.

2. Enter config mode on the pix

3. Select all text in the notepad and paste it into the hyperterminal window.
