I bought a CD of Sidekick 99 on E-Bay, paid for it (and for airmail costs from the US to the UK) - the villain took my money and sent me a dud copy 3 different CDRom's wouldn't read. He said he'd send a replacement but never did. That's life, I guess ...

Anyone with a SK99 they'd be prepared to pass on for a nominal cost ?

Dear rafferty5268,
Have you a registered copy of SDK2/95/97 or 98?
Regards Jim

Hello James 33

Yes - I'm currently working with SK98 and migrated to that from Sidekick 2.00p.

Does that help me somehow?

Dear rafferty5268,
Yes it does, Starfish suggest that you upgrade to SDK98 + the Year2000 patch if you have an earlier version.
I wonder in that case why you have decided to 'upgrade further' to SDK99 as it has fewer features:

1. No dragging a card to the phone dialer to dial a number
2. No export facility for the Calendar
and those are just some of the disadvantages.

Since you have a registered copy of Sidekick
See faq807-1313

which explains the procedure to follow with the Patch + a few other tips!
HTH Regards Jim

Dear Jim,

Thank you for that very useful information. I didn't reealise that SK98 -> SK99 would be a retrograde step. I automatically assumed that the contrary would be the case. Under this circumstance, I'll stay with the SK98 which is working happily.

Much appreciate your advice.

Best wishes

Bob Gregory
