Recently I got a new computer. The old computer has 17 odbc's. Does anyone know how to copy all of them to my new computer, instead of creating the odbc's one by one? I am running windows 98 on both computers. And I have already installed all the softawres the old computer has.

If you know how to use Regedit, you can export the ODBC information from the registry and then import it to the new PC. The location of the ODBC information in the registry depends on whether you created System or User DSNs.

System DSN location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ODBC\ODBC.INI

User DSN location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ODBC\ODBC.INI

Thanks for this tip, did not know about ODBC.ini

Wouldn't it be nice just to copy the file from the old to the new. I think I see why that will not work when I look at my Pervasive links.
