Don't use absolute references in your formulas (take out the dollar signs). Then when you copy and paste the formulas, the references will adjust.
In A2, put =$A1
In A3, put =$A1
When the dollar sign is in from of the column, the column does not change ($A1), when it's in front of the row, the row does not change (A$1), when it's in front of both, neither change ($A$1). Brainbench MVP for Microsoft Word

PS: When you use the dollar sign, it's referred to as an "absolute reference", as opposed to "relative reference". Brainbench MVP for Microsoft Word
