Hello,

I want to copy a project from sourcesafe on to my local machine and not be bound to sourcesafe. In other words I am not interested in changing any production code. I would just like to have my own working copy separate from VSS. Hope my question makes sense.

Thx,

Q.

By the fact you mention binding a project I assume you are using some kind of IDE, probably Visual Studio.

If you are using Visual Studio simply get the project from source safe in the usual way. Then access the following menu item:

File > Source Control > Change Source Control

From here you should be able to select your solution and all projects. Finally select the UnBind button on the toolbar.
