This is not ASP related, but I was wondering what to do when I see the "Access Denied" message when I try to copy files from one web server to another.

Please do not say "Contact the System Administrator". I have to figure a way to grant me access to the folder in the destination web server.

I have access to both the servers.

Thanks.

When you say you are trying to copy files and that you have access to both machines, do you mean that you can type on the keyboard and view the screen etc?

Or just that you can open a web page from that machine on a browser?

If the former then do you get the access denied when copying files using the windows explorer? Is so it is a windows permission error... right-click the folder and choose Sharing/Permissions from the popup menu.

I am in my local machine windows browser.

I have mapped 2 different drives to the 2 different web servers Inetpub drive.

Now I want to copy my ASP files, Crystal Reports from one web server to the other web server.

When I do that, I get the error - "Access Denied

Did you check the permissions on the folder where you are trying to copy the file? Maybe your account has read-only access or somesuch?
