Hello forum

I am setting up two servers. one is SBS 2011, the other is windows 2008 R2.

both have fileserver roles enabled.

now I am kind of confused about what happens copying files between file shares on those two servers.

assuming, I have the following drive mappings in my login script

G: \\sbs2011\data1
S: \\w2008R2\data2
--|SBS2011|---switch---|windows2008R2|---
-----------------|
-----------------|
----------|windows7 PC|

so when I copy files between G: and S: drives on W7 PC, it seems the data goes to w7 PC first, then passes on to the destination.

is there a way to copy data directly between those two servers while the copy still initiated from a PC?

many thanks for the help,

Any comment welcome.

Michael
