I wish to
copy one.dbf to temp.xls sheet1
copy two.dbf to temp.xls sheet2

from fpw2.6

Regards.

In general I'd tell you to use VFP Automation of Excel to do what you want.

But in all honesty, I cannot remember if that was supported by FPw2.6 or not.

You could look over: faq184-4428 and try some of that to determine if it is supported.

Good Luck,

FoxPro 2.6 doesn't support automation and I don't believe that COPY TO lets you specify a sheet. It's conceivable that you could do this with DDE, but finding resources for that at that stage is unlikely.

Is VFP out of the question here?

I am using fpw2.6

@Tamar, Can you provide little example or link for DDE

Regards.

Our first recommendation would be to change from FPW2.6 to VFP9.

But if you MUST stay with FPW2.6 you might find what you need by doing a Google search for: foxpro dde excel

Good Luck,

DDE wasn't the best option back when it was the only option.

Your best bet here is probably to record a macro in Excel that imports the two DBFS into the sheets you want and then use DDE from FPW to execute that macro.

Look in the help file for all the functions that start with DDE in their name.
