Copy data from one table to another.

I want to copy a set of data from one table to another.
The details are, I have first table call Group&Name and second table call Status. In Group&Name, I have 2 fields call Group and Name. Second table I have 4 fields call Group, Name, Date and Status. I want to copy data from Group&Name to Status everytime I enter a word in Status Form. Pls. help on this.
