If at all possible, is there a way to copy and format Mainframe text to Excel 2003?

I have a button that copies two rows of data from a single mainframe screen that is being copied into an excel file.

The problem is that once the text is copied, the text then splits into multiple cells instead of one big cell.

Then, I would have to concatenate the cells, copy the concatenated cell and select paste>special>values, and then move the cell value into a specific formatted column/row.

This will need to be done twice (perform the remaining concatenate and paste), because I want to have two valued cells in one row.

Is there a way to automate this?

"The problem is that once the text is copied, the text then splits into multiple cells instead of one big cell."

That's because you have a setting in Data > Text to columns - DELIMITED

Make sure that the FIXED WIDTH is selected instead.

"Then, I would have to concatenate the cells"

What cells?

You must be more specific with the process. It this just one copy - paste operation or are you referring to many?

What is your Mainframe source? Flat file or emulator?

Skip,
