I have a customer who recently changed PBXs at a branch site. According to them they could at one time dial 4 digits and get the other center. They want to change the route so that they can call the other site with 4 digits again. I do not maintain the other site but I may be able to get access to it. My question is.

1. Other than changing the type of PBX to be interfaced with in the T1 programming, what else should be changed?

2. If anyone can provide an outline of what LDs I have to go to to make these changes that would help.

Thanks!!

Basically you will be sending calls for particular DN's to a TIE route.

Here are the steps
1. Identify the TIE route and verify that it is working.
2. Identify the DN's that are going to be routed to the other site. Make sure the numbers do not conflict with and numbers already in use at your site.
3. Print your RLI's in LD 86 to see if there is already a path to the remote site.
4. If there is not an existing RLI to the remote site, you will need to build one. Include an entry using a DMI that will insert the leading digits of the full telephone number, and send it out over your PSTN route(s) if the TIE route is busy or unavailble (if desired). If there is an existing RLI, take note of it.
5. In LD 87, build the remote DN's as DSC's using the least amount of digits necessary - for example, if the remote DN's are 4000-4999, then you could build 4 as the DSC, with FLEN 4, and the RLI from step 4.

he nailed that one..

ld 21, try ltm to see if the old route is still there and someone put a des on it.. do you have a down t1 card? ld 60 stat.. if you need the change ifc on the rdb and dch.. prt the d in 22 and the route in 21.. out the trunks in 14, then the route in 16 and then the d in 17.. prt the cequ in 22 to make sure that is going to work for the route.. (you can add t1's to the cequ either pri or standard t1's)

then add the d back in 17, add the route back in 16 and then the trunks back in 14

then go to 97 dis msdl x all, enl msdl x fdl to write the change to the msdl card.. then go to 60 enll x the loop.. the d should auto establish..

when you enll, watch the lights.. they will go green, then yellow then green IF it;s clean... if they stay on yellow, layer one is up but the far end is not up.. that will cause the d to est then rls..

red lamps are layer one.. you do not have a complete path..

you would use a loop back to determine were your open at.. if you get that far, repost
