Hello

I've been wanting to know how to do stuff like this for a while but haven't been able to find an example to show you but i found one so please help.


Go to this link please and see on the main banner how in the background it has a cool lighting effect how would I do this sought of thing?

This seems to be a semitransparent image of wrinkled fabric or plastic that is layered over the illustrations.

Just create a layer of wrinkled stuff and set the opacity to less than 100%. You can overlay several layers of different wrinkles to get a unique effect.

This could have been done with some whiz-bang filter but you can have a lot more control if you tweak existing imagery.
 
You can also experiment with layer blending options like Difference. frozenpeas
