i'm a bit inexperienced with cookies... i need some help with a problem i'm working on. i am making an online casino... gambling and all. First of all, if i offer prizes for certain amounts of money, are the amounts alterable on the cookies (can someone cheat)? Also, how do i check to see if a cookie exists and if not, create one with a certain value. I know the whole document.cookie=escape(string); thing. But how do i do all the altering. How do i alter the cookie after they gamble and win/lose money? THANKS!!!

yes, a user could alter the cookie. you need to go with server-side script for this type of security.
