Hi Experts!
Access ADP database is linked to SQL server. I have access to ADP file via Remote Desktop. I need to write some queries and at the same I want to do it locally on my desktop. Also I want to keep my local copy linked to ADP file so that it is always connected to real data. Can someone help me out? Appreciate it.

Install SQL Server (Express) on your local computer.

Download the adp to your computer, then set the connection string to connect to the production SQL Server, using the IP address. Now you don't need remote desktop anymore.

Write your 'queries' then backup the database.

Install SQL Server (Express) on your local computer.
Get the backup and restore it on your computer.

Make a copy of the adp file, open it and change the connection to point to your local SQL Server.

adp is fundamentally different from mdb.
