Converting XML into Flat Files (Easy Question?)

Dear All

Have just started receiving XML messages and I want to add these to a SQL Server 7 database (hence no specific XML tools), is there anyway to convert these XML messages to flat files so that they can be easily loaded into the database. I am hoping this is fairly easy to do but can't find any info on the web
