Converting word documents through VB form

Am looking into a program that will convert a word document to other formats (eg RTF).
Would like to do it without opening the word application and running VBA.
ANyone know how to do it

Try using CreateObject with word.aplication

I see where and which object you are using..
But how do I use it?
Have tried creating macros in VBA to get a better understanding of it.
But can't seem to figure it out
