Hi

I have a Microsoft Word 2000 doc. with lots of forms.
I want to convert it into a PDF, (I have the full version of Adobe Acrobat 5.0.1) but I cant get it to convert the forms, so I have to put them in by hand afterwards. Is there a way to do this automatic??

Thanx

When you say 'forms' what exactly do you mean? Are they like tables? I cannot see any reason why these could not be converted to PDF along with the rest of the document.

What do you mean you have to 'put them in by hand afterwards'? do you mean create sepatate PDFs and then insert those pages into the rest of the PDF or what?

RoKKos,

I think I understand what you want to do, I had a similar project where I had textbox and checkbox form fields in Word. I was unable to convert them to PDF, I ended up having to add the PDF form fields by hand. I have Acrobat 4.0 so it may be different for you with 5.

Also, are you planning on putting the form on a web server? or are you planning on emailing it to someone to have them fill it out and send it back? If you are putting the form on a web server, you should be fine. But remember that if you are emailing the PDF File and wanting the data sent back to you it will not work with reader.

I found this out the hard way when after setting up a PDF form to email to clients and then have it emailed back to me that each of my clients would have to have Acrobat, the free Reader would not let them save the file to send it back. I did not want this on a web server so at this time the document is being left in .doc format and emailed back and forth.

If anybody knows how I could get my PDF file to be able to be filled out and emailed back to me, please let me know.

Steve, thanx for your answer.

Since most of the docs have to have a legaly-binding signature, ppl will fill them out, and then print it, and send the hardcopy so that is no problem. But I still have not found a way to get the formfields and checkboxes to pdf, am at the moment trying to find a 3rd-party program that can do this, omniform might be able to do it
