Converting Wireless Router to Access Point only 1

I have a home network in place with a Dlink 604 router and 3 pcs. I have a wireless router from netgear 803.11b that I just want to use as an access point. Is this possible at all. ?

The manual will tell you if it is possible with the model you have.

. Connect directly to the Netgear router with a patch cable
. Access the web-based setup page
. Disable the DHCP server
. If you can, disable the SPI firewall
. Set the router to a static IP address that does not conflict with the DHCP scope of the Dlink router; if the Dlink hands out DHCP addresses in the range x.x.x.100 -- x.x.x.150, pick an IP prior or after that range of addresses.

Now connect a cable from a regular LAN port on the Dlink router to a regular (not the WAN) port on the Netgear router. You should use an "Uplink" port on one of the routers if you can.

Thanx for your help. Your suggestions is very sound. I haven't try it out yet but after reading link from tomshardware, I believe that it will work. Thanx again.
