Hey everyone. I work for a company that uses the program xu2000. From my understanding this program can only run in dos on a windows me dos version or earlier. This program also uses a serial port to do it's data transmission. With that said. I have a windows xp laptop, hence no serial port. So i bought an adapter. I was wondering what I could do to make this adapter work in dos on a boot disk. It is a usb to serial adapter. Is there anyway to enable this device in dos?

Did the adapter come with dos drivers? Have you looked on its website? will the program run in the dos environment available from a boot disk?

Perhaps more to the point - wouldn't it be easier to get hold of an old (cheap) machine, running ME/98/95 with a serial port and use that to run this app?
