Can anyone tell me what to look out for?

Is there software already out there that will do the conversion?

The original program was written in VB5 Enterprise and I would like to convert it to VB6 Professional.

Help anyone.

Marcel.

Well first of all if you have used the Grids in VB5
In VB6 they thru it all in the trash and started over.
I am having a Hell of a time with the ADODC control.
Everything you learned about SQL and passing paramters to the Data control in Vb5 is Not the same with ADODC in VB6
Some of the controls work with the old Data control but don not work with the ADODC control or visa-versa.
ADODC works with Access 2000 databases Data control does not just Access '97.
Its real frrustrating to try an figure out what works with what.
They tried to be AAAALLLL things to all people and have a real piece of crap. They made great strides in VB5 and Now VB6 is two steps backward. Things that don't do this or don't do that or one thing works one way and doesn't work another way. I hate it and wish I never upgraded.
Also you better have a Pentium II-III screamer with tons or Ram or forget it.

But that's just my opinion.

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.
