when i convert my quark express file to .pdf using adobePdfWriter as a virtual printer it changes the background color. when i open the file in pdf writeof the output from white to dark blue. does anybody know how to get around in that.

Hi,
If I want to create a PDF out of a Quark doc, I always create a PS and distill that to PDF.
I think there is no better way to create a reliable PDF out of Quark.

Greetz,
Funky.

Just as reliable would be to use Distiller's virtual printer in the print dialog. It is the same thing as taking the extra step to make that postscript file.

Whenever there are PDF output issues, they are almost always due to a misconfiguration of the PDF profile. Without knowing what profile settings are being used and what PPD is used in QuarkXPress, there is little help to offer.

I have Quark 6.0 for Mac and can't create pdf's with the export to pdf command. Any suggestions on how I can convert my Quark files to pdf's?

JP8800, Start a new thread and ask that question.
Also on the mac the upgrade to Quark 6.52 is free so why not upgrade and see if that helps?
Hope this helps IMacQuarker
