How do I convert the date in the wtmp file to the current date?

jemcw pts/0 pts/0 7 286886 0000 0000 1261410268[/color red] 10.99.9.7

That time is in unix epoch format. I dont have a script handy to convert it, but a quick google should help you find converters and/or scripts to do it.

Add a little color to your PUTTY terminal: faq52-6627

There's also an AIX utility to convert wtmp contents (binary data) to human-readable format:

[tt]/usr/sbin/acct/fwtmp </var/adm/wtmp >/tmp/wtmp.txt[/tt]
