Hello,

when opening on a PC a file created on a Mac, extended characters (like è, ñ etc.) aren't recognized correctly, since char maps are different on these platforms. Do you know any method or tool to handle this problem?

Thank you in advance for your help

In theory, using OpenType fonts rather than Truetype or Type1 should solve this problem. I've yet to put it to the test though...

One bad way: If your are finished with the text. Simply select the text and hit Apple + Shift + o but after that are you not able to change the text... Sorry

If you ever have to convert your text to outlines its sometimes useful to make a copy of all the text and keep it to the side of the artboard - doesn't help when opening on the pc but if you make a lot of changes and have to re-open it on the mac it could prove useful.

Matt.
