I have an issue that has my brain numb. I was given a DLT tape with documents on it, and asked to restore the data to a repository somewhere. In the same request I was asked to take out the ACL information and dump it to a comma delimited file. The problem I am posed with is that I do not own the domain where this data came from. I do have a complete backup of the BDC and the SAM. I could spend some time and restore the entire server and try to get the information I am looking for except this is a potentially large project and could span many months even done efficiently. Is there a utility that I an convert the SID and ACL to the account name without an active SAM and use the inactive SAM?? In my mind this seems quite impossible, but others say it can be done and are also unwilling to assist me in any way. I turn to you my fellow System Administrators for assistance.

Thank you
