Is there a succinct set of cookbook steps for the process of converting a SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services RDL file to an RDLC file? I have VS 2010 and a VS 2008 BIDS.
A superuser has used Report Builder 3.0 to make changes to the fields displayed in a report using the RDL version stored in the Report Server. I have downloaded that file and added it to a web project in VS/BIDS 2008. As understand it I need to change how the report gets its Dataset and save it as an RDLC to get it to work on the client using the viewer, but I'm not certain of the steps involved. I've googked and found numerous articles on this subject, but none that have made it really clear just what mechanical steps are required.
Can anyone suggest a good source for the steps involved?
