Ok. I am running Photoshop CS and I need to create and editable file for Photoshop 5.5 Users. I don't think 5.5 had vector text available until 6 or 7, but I need only the text to be editable in the file. Is there some sort of converter that will allow users to edit text in a version 8 file? Or possibly some setting in photoshop that will allow me to save my file with the text still editable?

Please help on this urgent issue! Thanks

You might try going to Preferences/File and Maximaize file compatability. Select either Ask or always. I have Ask selected. Can't say this will work, but you could try. Make sure to save layers.

You could also try saving as tiff with layers.

As I remember, 6 introduced text editing directly on the image as opposed to separate before. Users of an older version might be able to access the text, but just not edit it in the image itself.
