Converting PRI Channels from Data to Voice

Hi,

We have the following system:
Magix Rel 1.5 v6.0 Mode: Hybrid/PBX
WinSPM (rel.9.0)
T1/PRI/BRI Clock Synchronization:
Primary Secondary Tertiary
6/1 Loop
Slot # 0: CKE5 CPU
Slot # 1: 408 GS/LS-MLX
Slot # 2: 408 GS/LS-MLX
Slot # 3: 012
Slot # 4: 012
Slot # 5: 016 MLX-U
Slot # 6: 100R-U
Slot # 7: 016 TRR /Ringing Frequency - 20 Hz

A PRI T1 (with DID) is used in the following manner.
Chan 1-15 Voice
Chan 16-17 split away to a T1 Fax board
Chan 18-23 Data

The Data channels are no longer required and would like to incorporate them into the PBX for Voice. I found the following FAQ (faq689-3784). Well written and for the first time I have a better understanding of the PRI setup (which was not originally setup by me).

What I'd like to know is if I can convert CHAN 18-23 to Voice even though 16/17 break the sequence? I've programmed just about everything else on the system, but trunks and the likes I've avoided til now. Some basic guidance is very appreciated. Thank you.

First of all, you need to check with the service provider to find out how the PRI is configured on their end. If all the B channels are in the same Trunk Group in the 5ESS switch then all your changes can be made in the Magix. You would need to remove the Data parameters and then put them with the Voice B channels. Otherwise you may need to place a change order with the service provider to reconfigure your B channels so 18-23 are the same as 1-15, in addition to making program changes in the Magix.

If this line was split before then what ever was doing the split needs to be adjusted. you will need to redirect the channels to the right port. and then just add them to the Magix.
