Is there a way of converting a PDF document to a Word document so that amendments can then be made.

Thanks in advance.

Or alternatively, you do this through the Save As dialogue box.

File>Save As>Save as type>Microsoft Word Document.

Just thought, I have Acrobat 6 so this might not work for you. If you Microsoft Word Document doesn't appear in your Save as type box, choose Rich Text Format instead. This work fine in Word.

Coakerb,

Thanks for the tip but the option that it tells me to select in Acrobat Reader 5 (which I am using) isn't there.

Sam577,

I am using Acrobat Reader 5 and when I click on the save icon it only gives me the option to save as a pdf file, do you have any more ideas?

I have tried highlighting the document, copying and pasting but at lot of the formatting is lost when I paste.

It's not that easy, especially if there's any formatting in the PDF. Do a Google search on "convert pdf to word" and get an idea of what you're looking at.

You can look into downloading ghostview

Adobe has a web site where you can get PDF's converted to text.

If you search this site I have posted detailed info on the subject.
