Converting pdf to Word..

I know this is a basic question and the answer is probably no, but I am at work and have been asked to convert a pdf to Word (or actually any format where I would be able to edit extensively). Also, it is a document that needs to look pretty, etc. I just want to confirm this cannont be done so that I can start re-typing the document in Word -- lucky me!

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!!!

It depends.
a) it is not meant to be, since PDF is an end format.
b) if you have Acrobat 6 or 7, then you can simply "Save as RTF". If the document is clean, i.e. without strange fonts/encodings, and not a scanned document, you should end up with a comparably good looking RTF.

c) there are also 3rd party tools like "ABBYY" PDF converter or "Solid PDF converter". (I prefer the latter).
Those will give you a comparably good choice from "Text only" up to "Exact layout" with text boxes in Word.
They often produce better results than Acrobat itself!

d) If the document is not too large, I'd prefer re-doing the doc in Word from scratch, too. ;-)
