I was recently told that by using the new SMS Installer I could compile packages to an .msi file. I thought this would be great since I've only used AD for software deployment and our SMS database is not reliable. My software package is SapGUI 6.2 and I used the SAPadmin tools to create a package and convert to .pdf. Now that I have the .pdf file, is there any way of converting this to an .msi format?

Converting PDF to MSI

PDF's are basically text files that contain package execution information. MSI's are databases that contain a lot more about the entire installation.
Your best bet, is to use SMS Installer to capture SAPGUI's installation, and then use the SMS Installer tool to convert the script to an MSI.
