Hi all,

I am trying to convert PDF document that is a table to a Word document. I was able to do this last week, but now, for some reason it won't work. If I save the PDF documents as a Word document, I get gibberish. The scanned in PDF won't let me select the table either. I think IT has made some updates to our machines that might have screwed this process up. Any ideas?

A scanned in pdf is an image (no differnet than if it was a photo) as opposed to a text document. You can save as an image format and place that in Word. Saving as PNG usually works pretty well for that.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

Hi,
It may be a protected document. If I set security on my pdf that restricts editing or copying, you won't be able to select or copy anything from it. Could this be the case?

If it isn't protected, you should be able to use the Select tool and click on the table. From the menu, you can select how to copy it.

Good luck,

Best,

Hi all,

I figured this out and am posting this for others info. If I scan in the document and save it as a Word document, NOT a .pdf, straight from the scanner, then I can manupulate the data as needed.
