Our printer is telling us that it is not possible to send us a text version of our PageMaker documents. Is this accurate or does the file>export>text function produce a text file that can be opened in Word?

Thanks for the help!

Hi

If your PM document contains only text and all the text is in one text block, then you can export this text to rtf or word and open it in a Word. If your document contains several text blocks you can export each text file and open themin Word. Be aware you will all text formatting. Font styles, text colour and so on.

hope this helps

You printer is right, and wrong.

As Grillhouse says, it is possible to export RTF, or text only versions and copy to a txt file or a Word doc. However, if your document consists of many stories, then it is a tedious process and easy to miss a block here or there. There is no way to click one button and extract all text. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
