Anyone with experience and or knowledge doing this?

Currently, my company installed this on a SUSE Linux 9 Enterprise platform thinking. The files are stored externally on an automounted drive to Linux from the web / admin servers (clustered).

I initially thought it would be as easy as converting the EFS entries in the KINI table from a '/home/livelink/efs' to a 'M:\Livelink\EFS' type of entry, but have been unsuccessful.

I am told by Livelink that I will have to export and re-import all of my objects from one system to the next. Oh yes, the backend is an Oracle database.

look at an object representation in the providerdata table. The efs path is made by appending the kini path with that in providerdata. The path may be an assoc so it may require some tweaking to work also with the FSM there could be rules as well.I would think re-extraction
is a long shot.Once ou do that you may have to re-index.

(i think the file separator may be reveresd in unix and windows that is probably why it didnot work just by changingthe eds)

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

That was fast!

If I understand your response correctly, are you suggesting that I also tweak the providerdata table to reverse the '/' to '\'?

You also mention FSM - which I am not familiar with.

You also mention re-extraction being a long shot. Is this because of the amount of time it would take, in addition to having to re-index? We have roughly 85K docs in the system.

Kind regards!

Greg

FSM means Felexible Storage Management. On your admin gui you can set up storage to act on a rule.Actually we use several different mount points based on some criteria.that
I would advise you to do a dry run based on copies of your tables and the efs and testing things thoroughly.
