Converting Illustrator files into HTML

I have a large bank of illustrator files, largely tables of information and some charts and graphs, that need to be converted into html files. I am familiar with the slicing method of creating a web page and this works fine for the charts and graphs, which work fine as raster graphics.

What I was wondering is if there was a way to get illustrator to create proper html tables out of the text-based tables that I currently have.

Each file consists of a title in one text block and another text block for the table (text is organized using tabs). There are a few horizontal lines dividing things as part of the design, but that is all.

I would like illustrator to create a file that has the title as html text and the text of the table itself as an html table.

Any suggestions for plugins, or other apps that might help? If Illustrator can do it, I'd be overjoyed, but I know it may be a long shot.

Thanks.

I wouldn't count on it. You're talking to different computer languages HTML vs vectors.

Indesign supports direct import of Illustrator and export of XML for GoLive to use. Can't tell you how it works cause I've never used it. Besides you're talking quite a few bucks in software that you might not need again.

I think it might be easier to convert those AI tables into PDFs for display/download on your website.

Prob be best to copy and paste it in, it mgiht even do a tab delminted file, then that will open with excel and then export that to html, but it does nasty html writing!
