Converting from varchar to nvarchar

Hum, I'm not realy a database-admin., so to be sure I'm not going to mess up customer databases I wouldn't mind some re-assurance and/or tips. I've done a (very) small test, and all looks ok.

We're thinking about converting a number of varchar(250) fields to nvarchar. Should I be expecting strange effects for the existing data?

No but nvarchar will take up twice as much space, just so you know.
