I am trying to convert a r6 translation to r7 using winSPM 9.0. When I select the file, choose r7.0, and choose the destination it will say that it's converted. When I try to restore it to a 7.0 processor, it says invalid. If I look at the translation is says it's a r6.1. What have I done wrong?

Make sure you are restoring from the converted file and NOT the backup file as the backup is still R6?

The converted file should be given a different name during tyhe conversion process. The default is just convert.ams - and that is the filname you need to choose - when you attempt the restore - not the originally downloaded R6 backup file.

I was saving the file to a new directory with a completely different name. I used the date as the new name. The old date was the name of the old directory. I use this format 12Jul07.AMS.

The original file is R6 with the converted file supposed to be R7.0, but it is coming out as R6.1.

Are there any variables that might prevent the upgrade to a 7.0?

There should be no variables to prevent a conversion to Legend R7 or Magix R4. Maybe the original R6 backup file has some errors. I would make a new R6 backup to WinSPM and try to convert it to R7.
