converting from mssql7 to mysql??

Hi,

We have been asked to use mysql on linux, and we have some
databases in mS sql 7.0 which use stored procedures
in Tsql.

without having to spend lots of time on it i was wondering
if some kind person could tell me if :-

1. is there an easy conversion path?

2. is mysql generally faster/more robust than mssql?
