I have been tasked with a project that I have minimal knowledge about, so I come seeking advice and doing research on the internet...

I work for a large organization and we currently run a "Unsigned Root Certificate". The Network Manager wants me to research cost, benefits, etc in switching to a "Signed Certificate".

So that being said and with minimal information I have provided (sorry, I lack details at current time)...

* What is the benefits from going to a Signed cert from a Un-signed cert?

* Cost to obtain a Signed Cert?

* What is implementation going to be like for this type of transition?

Any info you can give me would be great. I will update post with more information as it is given to me.
