Converting from 7.5 to 8.0 -- ne1 have problems?

I am getting asked to evaluate us converting from Dynamics 7.5 to 8.0 --- I know that we are going to do it, just that the timing is all wrong right now.

My question for the folks here is --- any weird problems when you did the conversion or was it a typical upgrade (as typical as the Dynamics upgrades are).

Most times the customizations (few forms and reports) are the worst for us, but I just wanted to see what you folks have to say.

I have done a test upgrade internally twice now without any issues. The only issues are the modified reports, where some have to be completely deleted and redone. Never install without a test upgrade with user input.

Our other issue was with security. In version 7.5, I had restricted user access by palette as it was much easier and didn't have to worry about removing the wrong windows to cause posting issues. In version 8, the palettes are gone, which then gave all our users access to everything. I had to go through each user class with adv security and remove all the individual windows, which took forever.

I've done a lot of 8.0 upgrades already. So far, they have been the smoothest of all the versions. Any reports and customizations should of course be upgraded first in a test environment. I used to restrict by pallettes also but always with additional security since users could zoom to an area many times that they couldn't get to by pallette. Anyway, they have been smoother than previous ones.
