Buy 3.0.1/CS. There is no going back. There never has been the ability to backsave with any version of InDesign.

You could try to export as Indesign Interchnge (.inx) and then use the Open command in 2 to see seeif it will import.

Adobe introduced .inx for version compatability with CS (3) but then said that it didn't work well. Can't hurt to give it a try.

Can't hurt to give it a try

Yes it can hurt, especially if one wastes time doing something futile. The 'readme' file for CS does not say that this INX method 'didn't work well'. It says that it does not work at all. It surprises me that so many are still circulating this misinformation.
