Hi

I have a situation where generally I am viewing a number of records from a table, however if a certain parameter is meet I would like the report to instead display the information that is held in a group of fields for one record as a list of records in the report. Is there an easy way of doing this?

One way I this thinking of, was to have an array that stores all of the data from the fields, but how would a formula field in the details section of the report know how to move onto the next record?

Does anyone have any ideas?

Any help appreciated

Alie

I think you could add multiple detail sections. In the first you would have your fields going across the detail section. In details_b to detail_x, you would place one field per detail section. You would then use a discrete string parameter with options of "horizontal" or "vertical" to suppress either detail_a:

{?display} = "vertical"

And, you would use the section suppression for the remaining detail sections as follows:

{?display} = "horizontal"
