Converting Director4 working files so that they open in Director 8.5??

Our client wants their presentation updating, however we use Director 8.5 and their working files are all director 4.

I can open the director 4 files in Director 4 but not in Director 8.5.

Is their a way of converting the files so that they opening in 8.5?

Or does anyone know how to export the cast from Director 4 so that I can then try and import at least the cast into director 8.5?

Macromedia says:
"Typically, Director can update movies created by Director one or two versions back. To update movies created with Director 4 - 4.0.4, either update the movie using the Update Movie feature in Director 5 - 6.5, or recreate the movie from scratch in a newer version of Director."

Director 4 was launched in 1993 - my personal experience goes back only to Director 5!
