converting data gathered in from a HTML form into an XML document

Hi,

I have a small test HTML form that want to be able to input details into. I then want to click a button at the bottom of the page and for the data I have entered to be converted to an XML file and saved to a folder on my desktop.

What would be the best way of doing this ? I was thinking of using asp but I was wondering if there was an easier way of doing it . Ideally with out having to install any programming languages onto my machine.
