I am trying to convert a nicely formatted Crystal Report into a .pdf or Word file. When previewing the report in Crystal Report, I have exported it as a Word document and gotten very unexpected results. A typical 50 page report exports as a Word report with over 2000 pages. After some investigation, I found that a few of the fields which are formatted to a size 8 font, are exported with a size 1638 point font. At first it looked like crazy graphics, but I am sure it is just the font greatly enlarged. Any idea why this would be happening. It only happens on a few of the records. My real goal here is to be able to save to a .pdf format so customers could easily open and view reports with Acrobat Reader. Any ideas?

I haven't heard of this, but hear are some troubleshooting ideas. BTW, what version of CR do you have? CR doesn't have a PDF export (yet), but the Word export is usually OK.

Is it ALL fields in this same font, or just certain ones. Is there anything unique about these fields?

If you delete these fields and re-add them does it help?

What if you use 9 font as a test?
What happens if you go to Excel instead of Word?

If these fields are attached to any guidelines try removing the tabs once you are aligned.

One thing I do know is that the Word export is for version 2 of Word. That may have an impact on Fonts. [sig]<p>Ken Hamady<br><a href=mailto:ken@kenhamady.com>ken@kenhamady.com</a><br><a href= Reports Taining by Ken Hamady</a><br>[/sig]

There is a beta PDF export feature available on the Seagate site. Of course, that may not be as &quot;reliable&quot; as the Word export ;) [sig][/sig]

I figure if you have the PDF Writer you could just print it manually.

I figure if you have the PDF Writer you could just print it directly by making the PDF Writer the selected printer.

Malcolm,

I didn't know that the PDF export was finally available. Thanks! [sig]<p>Ken Hamady<br><a href=mailto:ken@kenhamady.com>ken@kenhamady.com</a><br><a href= Reports Training by Ken Hamady</a><br>[/sig]
